Politics in Shitsville
The Federation of Shitsville is officially a single party state ruled by the Novaist Workers' Party. However, opposing organized and disorganized groups of people challenge the dominance of the Novaist Workers' Party. The Novaist Workers' Party's stance on people not being a member of the party is unfavourable, and the act of taking part in political groups other than the Novaist Workers' Party is considered treason and threatening the safety of the Federation. None of the groups are unified in a single front and have either indifferent or hateful relations between each other. The most significant act related to political action was the Realmcity coup attempt.
Underneath will be a brief list of the largest active political groups, though keep in mind that there might be more that are secretive or very small:
People's Worker Party
The People's Worker Party is a communist party that is mostly known for their heavy involvement in the Realmcity coup attempt and other attacks on Federal Government. The member amount is unknown, but they are known to have a considerably large militant group. Their exact motives are not known, but they seem to agree on a larger objective of trying to take over the government itself. This has been hindered by harsh crackdowns ordered by the state on their operations as the Novaist Workers' Party finds them threatening to their absolute power. Their end goal is to create a workers dictatorship, but besides that, they have no widely known plans for the future.
Freedom Party
The Freedom Party is a relatively new political group with a sole goal of introducing democracy into the state. It has gained wide support among the population of the federation due to its progressive attitudes and promises of democracy and greater individual freedoms. They also happen to have an armed group of their own, mainly to protect their members from the members of the People's Worker Party. They do not intend to change the economic structure of the federation, however, thinking it can exist alongside its more progressive social policies and freedoms with the added benefit of not having to build a new system of government again. This party has even surpassed the People's Worker Party in membership, which remained the largest opposing group to the state for a long time.
Progress Party
The Progress Party is a libertarian party aiming to abolish all Novaist economic policies and turning the economy from a limited free market system with a state run industrial planned economy to a totally unregulated capitalist system. They also want to abolish all social welfare believing it is a waste of money. Their fundamental philosophy is that of natural economic selection and a natural societal hierarchy of which basis is to be economic status. They believe all state involvement in the economy violates their rights and that the state is only there to provide international diplomacy and legitimacy. They also believe that the armed forces are to be privately owned and hired by individuals for protection, getting rid of a police force.
Anti-Authority Alliance
The Anti-Authority Alliance is a political group made up of anarchists and other people wanting to get rid of the state completely. They believe any authority or laws is unnatural and violates their natural rights. They are the smallest of the known major political groups and have horrible relations with just about every single other group.
