Plane 01 (an MPA03D10) flying.

The MPA-03 Multi-role Fighter Jet

The MPA-03 is a successor to the MPA-02 made by the Rotten Design Bureau. It's much more advanced than its predecessor, featuring a conical scanning SWEEP 1 detection radar, LWR Mark 1 radar warning receiver, and a more advanced heads-up display. Not only that, it's capable of much higher speeds, and is more reliable. It's a single-seater, and has no option for an additional crew member, but an additional crew member is not needed due to the newer systems that are capable of much more automated tasks. The plane is still under development, but is promising and capable. Compared to it's predecessor, it has excellent flight performance and handling.

Features/Specifications

Early picture of the MPA-03 cockpit.

The MPA-03 is powered with two Rotten Design Bureau made GTJ-102 turbojet engines providing a total amount of 15 000kgf of force, providing the aircraft with a thrust to weight ratio of 1.5:1 with the aircraft fully fueled weighing around 10 000 kilograms or 10 metric tonnes. These engines are designed to operate on many types of fuel including diesel, if required. The aircraft can carry up to 6 hardpoints, but it has never seen carrying such large payloads ever. It is also armed with an unspecified 20mm autocannon that sits flush with the leading edge of the right wing. The avionics were originally much alike to the ones found on the MPA-02, but it was quickly noted how obsolete they were so a digital fly-by-wire and avionics package was quickly installed on the aircraft. A proper weapons avionics package is still being developed and prototypes have been tested, but no public information exists.

Development History

Following the pretty successful development of the MPA-01 "Airkraft" and the quite failed development of the MPA-02, the Rotten Design Bureau wanted to fill a gap in the air forces and to develop a successful aircraft. The development of the MPA-03 was pretty slow, but major innovations were happening. The MPA-03 was originally going to carry a radar warning receiver much alike the one on the MPA-02, but it was found obsolete. It was also decided to give it a scanning and locking capable radar. The first radar was a radar based on older vacuum tube technology, and had quite poor accuracy. The MPA-03 received the SWEEP 1 scanning radar which is a mechanically steered I band radar. Also the MPA-03 initially received the Rotten Design Bureau Mk. 1 Heads-Up Display, but a newer and better Mk. 2 model was developed, and it was replaced. Nowadays the Mk.1 Heads-Up Display is currently being used on the MPA-01.

The MPA-03 sees some limited service for now in the Shitsvillian Armed Forces, with two squadrons operating the type. It has not seen combat yet.
